Key Responsibilities:

The ideal Workshop Manager will have experience in workshop management and a proven track record of effective tool and equipment management, as well as experience in inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the tools and equipment within the workshop, ensuring that all machinery is maintained and in good working condition.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, assigning tasks to team members and ensuring that projects are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and implement workshop policies and procedures, ensuring that they are followed by all staff.
  • Monitor and manage the inventory of tools, equipment, and products, ordering new supplies as needed and ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and repaired.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols and ensure that all staff adhere to them.
  • Train and mentor new staff members and ensure that all team members have the necessary skills to perform their duties.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the company to ensure that workshop activities are aligned with broader company goals.
  • Implement and maintain a 5S system to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
  • Provide regular reports on workshop activities and performance to senior management.
  • Maintain the company’s vehicles and vessels.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. A trade qualification in mechanical engineering, industrial technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in workshop management, with a focus on managing tools and equipment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory and control costs.
  • Knowledge of workshop safety protocols and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and workshop management software.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining a 5S system.
  • Experience in inventory management.
