Project Manager (Technical)

We are looking for motivated, energetic and talented people to join our Operations Team in Halifax.

Is this position for you? In this role you will:

  • Work closely with our innovative product development team to determine and define project scope and objectives

  • Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects

  • Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for team members required for specific projects or initiatives

  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner

  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements and track project costs in order to meet budget

  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan

  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress

  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements

  • Revise a variety of contracts with vendors and suppliers and manage contract by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables

  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution

  • Anticipate details of future projects by communicating directly with customers and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news

 

To be successful in this role, you will need

  • Have 5+ years of technically-oriented project management or relevant experience in Software, Operation, Application; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset

  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Exemplify a strong attention to detail and are a creative problem solver

  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

Service Team Lead

We are looking for a motivated, energetic and talented people to join our Service Team in Halifax.

 

Is this position for you? In this role you will:

  • Develop and execute standard service, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair operation procedures

  • Build and maintain a service operations organization committed to customer and employee satisfaction and profitable growth at the organization

  • Drive execution of the business plan, including revenue forecast, profit, cost control, asset management, and other financial deliverables based on targets

  • Develop strong internal and external customer relationships and identify needs and resolve issues

  • Perform on-site measurement, installation, training, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair

  • Oversee technician output for efficiency and quality of work produced

  • Follow all safety requirements as outlined by Marine Thinking as well as customers

  • Conduct ongoing training with all staff to ensure proper procedures and distributor processes are followed

  • Handle customer questions providing appropriate resolution

  • Travel: 20% - 40% of the time

  • Collect and gather product feedback through product installation and maintenance

  • Work closely with R&D and sales teams to improve the product feature and optimize the user experience

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a technical and business discipline; Electrical Engineering is an asset

  • Have 3+ years of business, operations, or supervising experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and the Google platform

  • Valid class 5 driver’s license

  • Strong communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to influence positive outcomes

  • Ability to quickly understand technical / electrical material, which will include, debugging / testing pcb’s, debugging / testing sensors, and debugging / testing cable assemblies, as well as familiarity with multimeters and oscilloscopes

  • Previous experience building a team and creating operational processes from ground up is preferred

Marketing Manager

We are looking for a motivated, energetic and talented people to join our Marketing and Business Development team in Halifax.

 

Is this position for you? In this role you will:

  • Develop marketing and promotional strategies and materials for a company or products from inception to completion, including brand management, advertising, and web and sales collateral

  • Communicate directly with clients, configuring and reporting on company products to achieve client satisfaction and retention

  • Be the main point of contact for all marketing and brand related questions

  • Assist in preparation of long- and short-term marketing plans, pricing policies and budgets

  • Lead research and planning for project specific marketing initiatives, including new and emerging platforms and channels

  • Lead a team of marketing coordinators or assistants and be able to guide them in their skillful craft

  • Communicate stakeholder vision by delegating marketing campaigns to external partners when required

  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, computer science, or related field

  • Have 5+ years of work experience in the product marketing role supporting various stakeholders

Electronics Technician

We are looking for a motivated, energetic and talented people to join our Operations team in Halifax.

 

Is this position for you? In this role you will:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain marine based electronic equipment and
    systems on Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs)

  • Assist with the investigation and resolution of production issues involving parts, processes, and equipment

  • Assist R&D and Production with the goal of achieving excellence in new product introduction

  • Perform QA verification procedures, analyze test results, and prepare reports

  • Provide support with maintenance, processes, tests, and repairs as required

  • Maintain equipment and parts inventory

  • Hold an Electronic Technician diploma or equivalent experience

  • At least 2 years of practical experience in the industry

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and time management skills, ability to update all the needed technical documents

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excel at working within a team environment as
    well work independently

  • Fluency in written/verbal communication in English

  • Knowledge of network-based systems

  • Thorough understanding of electronics principles and design

  • Experience in marine electronics is an asset
