Marine Thinking Showcases Autonomous Vessel Innovations at National Ocean Research Seminar
On October 11, 2024, Marine Thinking participated in an Ocean Research seminar hosted by the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO). During the event, our CEO, Wenwen Pei, delivered a compelling presentation on advancing ocean exploration and research through autonomous maritime technologies. The online seminar attracted over 100 participants, including scientists, researchers, and marine industry professionals from across Canada.
Wenwen Pei’s presentation underscored Marine Thinking’s dedication to revolutionizing maritime operations through AI and robotic technologies. She highlighted the company’s state-of-the-art Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) technologies, showcasing features such as self-navigation, real-time data processing and communication, and the integration of specialized sensors. These advanced capabilities position Marine Thinking’s USVs as ideal solutions for overcoming the challenges of conducting scientific research in complex marine environments.

The presentation also included real-world case studies demonstrating the successful deployment of Marine Thinking’s technologies in ocean research and related industries. These examples illustrated how the company’s innovations are enhancing data accuracy, streamlining operations, and transforming the methods used in oceanographic studies.
A significant portion of the seminar focused on the potential for future collaboration between Marine Thinking, and BIO/DFO (Department of Fisheries and Oceans). Participants demonstrated enthusiasm for Marine Thinking’s USV technologies, recognizing their potential to significantly expand the scope and quality of marine research by enabling more efficient and comprehensive data collection.
Marine Thinking is proud to contribute to the advancement of oceanographic research and remains committed to fostering meaningful collaborations with BIO, DFO, and other stakeholders in the marine sector. Together, we aim to shape a sustainable and innovative future for marine exploration and operations.
