Autonomous Navigation: Integrating Marine Tensor into RIB

With the financial support of Innovative Solutions Canada, Marine Thinking will integrate autonomous navigation features into a third-party rigid-hull inflatable boat (RIB). The integration process combines Marine Thinking’s Marine Tensor™ with real-time data from multiple on-board sensors and surface cameras. Using these augmentations, the enhanced RIB vessel will be able to perform autonomous navigation duties.

The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) will schedule The RIB vessel for evaluation in 2023. Upon review and approval, the NRC will add the autonomous RIB to the ISC Testing Stream’s “Pathway to Commercialization” source list. Pending evaluation, it will then available for direct purchase to all Canadian government departments.
